About Us
We are based in the UK and Tanzania and also lead The Luhimba Project (Reg. Charity 1084849) which has been supporting the remote village of Luhimba in southern Tanzania since 1984 (www.luhimbaproject.org.uk)
We have travelled extensively in Tanzania and Zanzibar for 20 years and have escorted groups there for the past 15, during which time we have discovered for ourselves the best and most interesting places to visit and stay. We have first hand knowledge of all the places we visit on our tours (including climbing Kilimanjaro!).

We also have a number of other Tanzanian guides, drivers and cooks. Together we form a happy team with a total passion for Tanzania. We want to share this with all our guests and help make your stay a happy experience you will never forget.
How Pure Tanzania Operates
We do not arrange your international flights. Our commitment starts when we meet you at the airport in Tanzania and ends on your point of departure at the end of your stay. But we will offer you all the advice you need beforehand regarding visas, vaccinations, health precautions etc.
Payment
Payment is made into our Lloyds TSB account in the UK by cheque or BACS.
Financial Protection
As a member of the Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited (ABTOT), Pure Tanzania has provided a bond to meet the requirements of the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992.
In the event of Pure Tanzania's insolvency, protection is provided for non-flight packages commencing in and returning to the UK and other non-flight packages excluding pre arranged travel to and from your destination. Please note that packages booked outside the UK are only protected when purchased directly with Pure Tanzania.
In the above circumstances, if you have not yet travelled you may claim a refund, or if you have already travelled, you may claim repatriation to the starting point of your non-flight package.
Climate in Tanzania
Tanzania and Zanzibar lie in the tropics, just south of the equator and enjoy a fairly regular pattern of wonderful climatic conditions with temperatures ranging from mid 20’s in the cool season (June/July) to mid 30’s at the hottest time of year (Dec-Feb).
May to October is the dry season. The 'short rains' start mid November until the end of December. January and February are hot with some rain and the ’long rains’ follow in March and April.
